FOCUS ON HUMANITY & DIVERSITY

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of contemporary figurative art with artist Seona Sommer from Cologne. Her impressive portraits pay homage to humanity and diversity, taking viewers on an emotional journey deep into the soul of her subjects.

At the age of 12, Seona longed to leave behind the confines of her small town and explore the diversity of the world. At 21, she embarked on a solo journey to India, traveling across the fascinating country for two months. This trip marked the beginning of a lifelong adventure.

A journey to Tanzania in 2019 became another decisive turning point. This experience not only changed her personal life but also significantly influenced her artistic development. Since then, she has made it her mission to connect her art with social responsibility, actively supporting an organization that provides educational access to children in Tanzania.

After completing her master's degree with honors at the University of Bielefeld in 1996, Seona's path led her to the United States as a German language instructor in Oakland, California, and later to Puebla, Mexico. After four years abroad, she returned to Germany in 2000, eventually finding her calling in painting. In 2015, she decided to end her teaching career and has been fully dedicated to her art professionally since 2017.

Seona's works have been widely recognized, not only in Germany but also in various European countries—most recently (2023) at the Diocesan Museum in Andria, Italy—as well as in Taiwan (2021/2022). In addition, her works have been featured in international online exhibitions and prestigious art magazines such as The Guide Artists, Fine Art Connoisseur, and Hyperrealism Magazine. Her outstanding artistic achievements have earned her two audience awards in 2019 and 2021. Since 2023, Seona Sommer has been represented by the renowned Galerie Petra Kern in Heidelberg, with recent success at art KARLSRUHE.
